Cops: Liverpool woman fought with store employees after stealing from department stores
New Hartford (WSYR-TV) – A Liverpool woman was arrested Tuesday evening after police say she fought with store employees and also stole from department stores in suburban Utica.
According to New Hartford Police, 57-year-old Christina Stamboly was caught pilfering more than $800 worth of merchandise from a JC Penney location.
When she was discovered, police say Stamboly fought with a loss prevention employee and tried to run away.
During their investigation, police say they also found $360 in stolen merchandise from a Sears store.
She was charged with one count of harassment, one count of petit larceny, and one count of resisting arrest.
She was arraigned in Town of New Hartford court and taken to the Oneida County Jail in lieu of $750 cash bail.
Police are still investigating the incident and more charges may be pending.
