Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse Police have arrested a man who they say tried to poison his brother’s children by pouring bleach into their milk.

Police say Aaron Hickman, 20, of 554 Seymour St., had been living with his brother’s family – including his girlfriend and their 1 and 3-year-old sons - when he was told to leave after an argument the evening of May 23.

Police say Hickman was angry and poured liquid bleach into the children’s milk on his way out. The following morning, the boys ingested the milk and became violently ill. They were taken to Upstate University Hospital with symptoms that included severe vomiting and diarrhea. They have since been released.

After police found him, Hickman submitted a written confession. He was charged with assault in the second degree and endangering the welfare of a child.

He was arraigned on Friday morning. He is being held on $15,000 cash bail or $25,000 bond.
