Marcellus (WSYR-TV) – Onondaga County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to Marcellus High School on Wednesday morning to investigate anonymous threats against students.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, two anonymous threatening calls were made to 911. The Sheriff’s Department says the threats were unsubstantiated.

The school was locked down for approximately two and a half hours while Sheriff’s Deputies investigated.

The Sheriff’s Office said the lockdown was lifted at approximately 11:15 a.m.

A school official told NewsChannel 9 that a note from the superintendent regarding the incident will be posted on the district’s website.

When it is posted, the district says parents will be notified via the school’s text alert system, if they have signed up for alerts.
