Cops shut down Highbridge Road in Manlius while investigating ‘suspicious item’
Manlius (WSYR-TV) – Police shut down Highbridge Road in the town of Manlius Thursday afternoon to investigate a suspicious item that was discovered in the area.
According to police a grenade was reported at the side of the road shortly after noon.
Police closed down the road between Woodchuck Hill Road and Hunt Lane during their investigation.
Onondaga County 911 contacted residents in the immediate area, warning them to remain in their homes.
Explosives specialists from the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office determined that the grenade was harmless.
They reopened the road around 2:50 p.m.
