ITHACA, N.Y. (AP) - A 49-year-old man has been charged with second-degree murder in the fatal shooting of a New York City man at an Ithaca apartment complex last December.

Police tell the Ithaca Journal that Gary Lowe of Cortland was also charged Thursday with robbery, conspiracy, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal use of a firearm. He was sent to the Tompkins County Jail without bail.

Lowe is accused of shooting 25-year-old Francisco Santiago of the Bronx on Dec. 1.

A second man facing murder charges in the slaying, 34-year-old Lawrence Beauford of Ithaca, is currently in a western New York prison for an unrelated robbery.

It couldn't immediately be determined if Lowe had a lawyer.
