Cortland (WSYR-TV) – The Cortland County SPCA has charged a man with animal cruelty.
They say Thomas Chamberlain, 19, of 160 South Main St., Cortland, struck a puppy multiple times and also slammed it onto the ground.
He was charged with a misdemeanor under New York State Agriculture and Markets Law.
The SPCA removed the animal pending the result of the court case.
Chamberlain was issued an appearance ticket after being processed by the Cortland Police Department. He is scheduled to appear in City Court on June 15.
