DOT holds first of eight meetings on I-81 project in Syracuse
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Syracuse residents had their chance to voice their opinion on the I-81 project as the first of eight neighborhood meetings took place on Wednesday.
The State DOT conducted a presentation about the ongoing environmental review process, discussed how residents can participate in the project and had an open floor for questions.
The meeting was held at Toomey Abbott Towers on Almond Street in Syracuse.
I-81 was built 50 years ago and must be overhauled or replaced according to the DOT.
Seven other meetings to discuss the project will take place in Syracuse and the surrounding suburbs in the coming weeks.
