Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A Manlius man who used online dating services to scam women in Central New York could spend as many at four years behind bars.
Donald Van Valkenburg was sentenced to five years probation in February and ordered to repay his victims $14,000 after he pleaded guilty to grand larceny in May 2011.
But in May, he found himself behind bars
after his dating profile surfaced on Match.com.
Now, Van Valkenburg will spend one and one third to four years in prison for violating probation.
