Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – David Muir will join 20/20 as co-anchor alongside Elizabeth Vargas, ABC announced on Tuesday.
The network indicated that the Onondaga Central Schools graduate will join the show while continuing in his role as “World News” weekend anchor.
ABC made the announcement shortly after indicating that
Chris Cuomo was leaving for CNN.
Muir, whose family now resides in Skaneateles, has appeared on the air more than any journalist in broadcasting for the last two years.
Cuomo has been a mainstay at ABC for 14 years.
