Albany (WSYR-TV) – A deal to raise the minimum wage in New York State to $9 an hour has reportedly been reached by lawmakers.

The Albany Times Union says the tentative deal would include the hike as part of the new state budget.

The wage plan calls for increases over three years, The New York Times reported. Minimum wage would go up from $7.25 to $8 by 2014 and then up to $9 by 2016.
