Discover to refund $200M to customers
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Discover Bank has settled charges that it pressured customers to buy costly add-on services.
Federal regulators say call-center workers enrolled customers into programs like payment protection and credit monitoring; leading customers to think the products were free.
Discover will refund $200-million directly to more than 3.5-million customers.
It applies to customers who purchased the products by telephone between December of 2007 and August of 2011.
