Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A water-main break in Downtown Syracuse sent water shooting several stories into the air over Fayette Street early Wednesday morning.
The break occurred between Franklin and Clinton streets near Armory Square.
Crews estimate that the water spurted about 50 feet in the air.
The eruption from the water main occurred around 2 a.m. and lasted around three and a half hours.
A car’s rear window was shattered near the break.
Crews said the water main would need to be shut down throughout the morning while they worked to repair the damage.
