Driver dies following serious accident on State Fair Boulevard

Geddes (WSYR-TV) – Emergency crews responded to a deadly head-on collision on State Fair Boulevard near Crucible Steel on Wednesday that took the life of a 28-year-old Lakeland woman.

Stephanie Tolone of Birch Road had to be cut out of her 1995 Oldsmobile after it collided head on with a cement truck. She was transported to Upstate University Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Geddes Police were the lead investigators at the scene of the accident. They said that while no reason is evident yet, all indications are that Tolone's vehicle traveled into the cement truck's path.

The crash occurred before noon. The road had to be blocked off while crews cleared the scene.
