Driver in Baldwinsville crash in critical condition

Baldwinsville (WSYR-TV) -  State Police are investigating a serious accident in the Town of Van Buren that sent four people to University Hospital including a 22-year-old who is listed in critical condition.

According to the police, Robert Smallwood, 22, was driving eastbound on Village Boulevard North near the intersection with Idlewood Boulevard when the crash happened around 7:30 Sunday night. Witnesses say the driver of the car hit a utility pole, crossed the median on two wheels and then hit a tree.

Smallwood was taken by helicopter to University Hospital. The three passengers, 21-year-old Kelly Nolan, 19-year-old Brandon Hare, and 18-year-old Alexis Trapp, were also taken to the hospital, but with less severe injuries.
