Driver killed in West Monroe accident was from North Carolina, name still withheld

Oswego (WSYR-TV) – The Oswego County Sheriff’s Office has released some information on a person killed Wednesday in a one-vehicle crash in West Monroe. They've also revealed that they believe speed was a factor in the accident.

The Sheriff’s Office issued a release late in the day on Thursday indicating that the driver was a North Carolina resident.

They are still awaiting positive identification for the victim and working closely with the Onondaga County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The accident occurred around 9 p.m. on County Route 11 near Smith Road.
