Syracuse (WSYR0-TV) - Thousands took part in the 2010 edition of the “Duck Race to End Racism” and organizers expect an even bigger crowd this year.

Plans for the event were outlined by organizers on Friday morning. The chair of the Duck Race, Melanie Littlejohn, said that the event is a lot of fun for everyone, but the message is very serious.

“The message is really serious. It’s really about how we as a community will take as one of our top priorities eliminating racism and then creating racial healing and racial harmony in our community,” sad Littlejohn.

The event will take place Saturday, June 11, at Syracuse’s Inner Harbor.
