Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – It appears there's a new player on the summer concert circuit in central New York.  Alliance Bank Stadium has landed its second big concert of the year.

Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney and Syracuse Chiefs GM John Simone announced Friday morning the Bob Dylan Show will come to Alliance Bank Stadium on Sunday July 19, two weeks before the previously announced Dave Matthews Band concert.

The show, along with the DMB concert, will make a memorable summer for the Syracuse community, said Chiefs President Ron Gersbacher.

The concert will be the first held in the stadium since the Allman Brothers in the summer of 2000 – but it looks like it won't take another decade to get the next shows in there.

The two big concerts represent a major change in philosophy for the county and its partner at Alliance Bank Stadium, the Chiefs.

"The bickering in the past, we didn't really accomplish anything on the baseball side, on the concert side, on the stadium side, so it's just a new philosophy of cooperation," said Onondaga County Executive Joanie Mahoney.

Joining Dylan at the concert will be John Mellencamp and Willie Nelson. It marks just the second time in the past 24 years that the three performers have shared the concert stage.

"We are thrilled to continue to benefit from the improved business relationship with the Chiefs by using Alliance Bank Stadium for events like these. The effect on the local economy is much more than simply ticket sales and parking revenue; we will see thousands of tourism dollars as a result,” said Mahoney.

ABS head groundskeeper Wes Ganobcik said since both concerts will have the stages set up on the field, two concerts β€œis definitely a maximum that I would ever be comfortable with."

Tickets for the concert at Alliance Bank Stadium will be $67.50 each. Tickets will be available in person through the Chiefs ticket office or online at SyracuseChiefs.com and will go on sale at 10:00am on Saturday May 9. Gates will open at 5:00pm.
