Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – An East Syracuse woman who admitted that she tried to hire someone to kill her former girlfriend’s husband was sentenced on Tuesday.

Marnie Nappi, 40, of James Street, will spend 2 1/3 to seven years in prison.

She pleaded guilty to second-degree criminal solicitation in August.

Nappi was the subject of a Town of DeWitt Police Department sting in September 2011.

After receiving a tip that she was trying to hire people to kill her former girlfriend’s husband, police say an undercover officer led her to believe he would accept money in exchange for committing the murder.
