ELMIRA, N.Y. (AP) - A 37-year-old Elmira man has been sentenced to 10 years in state prison for fatally beating another man to death with a frying pan three years ago.

Elmira media outlets report that Robert Storms was sentenced in Chemung County Court on Monday, nearly two months after pleading guilty to a reduced charge of manslaughter for killing 53-year-old Douglas Hubbard in the spring of 2009.

Storms admitted to going to Hubbard's Elmira apartment to buy drugs. The two men got into an argument and fought, and Storms used a frying pan to beat Hubbard to death.

He then hid the body, which investigators found in July in a field outside Elmira after being led to the location by Storms.
