Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Police and emergency personnel responded to an accident at the intersection of James and Oak streets in Syracuse on Thursday morning.

Three people were transported to the hospital. Police do not believe their injuries were life threatening, but an image from the scene indicates that one car had to be cut open.

The accident occurred shortly before 6:30 a.m. and shut down traffic in the area until approximately 7:45 a.m.

Police are trying to determine whether or not one of the drivers ignored a red light.
