Salina (WSYR-TV) – Emergency personnel responded to a fatal accident on Old Liverpool Road on Friday morning.

Onondaga County Sheriff Kevin Walsh said that witnesses indicated that the vehicle was traveling south on Old Liverpool Road and that it was moving "somewhat erratically" before the accident.

The vehicle then spun out of control and came to rest in a snow bank. Witnesses told them the vehicle then became "engulfed in flame."

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Sheriff's Office has not identified the victim.

The accident occurred in front of Chuck Taylor’s Bodyshop near Heid’s.

The road was closed for some time after the accident. The road reopened before noon.
