Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- The FBI has issued a warning about a new scam out there to steal your money. It’s a phishing scheme that uses spam emails that appear to be from government agencies, such as the Federal Reserve or the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation.
The email claims there’s a problem with your bank account and to fix it you must click on a link.
The FBI says that the link takes you to a phony website that downloads malware and grabs everything off your computer needed to steal your banking information.
