Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Your Facebook page will soon have a new look, yet again. Mark Zuckerberg and his team unveiled some changes that will slowly take effect over the next few months.
Facebook’s latest changes aim to be the best personalized newspaper on the web by targeting the evolving face of our news feed.
In recent years, our news feeds have become filled with images and Facebook hopes to make it more visually engaging. You’ll begin to see larger photos, maps and even news articles.
You’ll also be able to sort your news feed chronologically -- or filter it. You’ll be able to pick and choose only what you want to see, whether it be events people are attending, music they’re listening to or pictures they’re posting. And depending on things you’ve liked in the past, you’ll see trending articles Facebook thinks would be most relevant to you.
The new layout is also mobile inspired, which means you’ll see better consistency across all platforms, from your desktop to your cell phone and tablet.
The changes begin today, but only to a limited number of people. They hope to get feedback and polish things up before rolling it out to the mainstream.
Phone and tablet layouts will begin to look different in a few weeks.
