Facebook creates privacy concerns by taking away ability to hide profiles from searches
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Facebook is adjusting a privacy setting that may leave some users out in the open.
The social media company is officially axing a privacy setting which allowed people to hide their profiles from other users in Facebook's search field.
The setting "Who can look up my timeline by name" has already disappeared from the options for some users.
Those who still have the function enabled will receive removal notices.
Facebook says the feature confused people, and only a "small percentage" of profiles were still using it.
