Geddes (WSYR-TV) -- State Fair officials spent the day searching for answers to problems with its new concert ticketing system. After months of waiting, the fair introduced Etix, which went live on Saturday. However, many of you have told us about issues you’ve experienced with the new system.
Fair officials assure us that the bugs are being worked and say a representative with Etix will be coming by on Tuesday to look over the system.
“It was the perfect storm. It was a new system and you had, virtually, a sell-out concert. I feel bad. There are some legitimate concerns out there and I’m certainly going to address them,” said State Fair Director Dan O’Hara.
O’Hara says a big problem was on their end. They sent people to the fair website, which then linked to the Etix site. The lesson learned: It’s best to go directly to the Etix site to order tickets.
“Our server, our host for our Internet, when we talked to them to do a debriefing told us that it crashed a couple of times; it was slow,” O’Hara said.
If you’re waiting out for a different performer to hit the Grandstand, you could be in luck. Another act is set to be announced on Tuesday, and even more Grandstand announcements will be coming next week.
We’ll keep you posted as we learn more.
