Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Saturday marked the first home game of the season for the Syracuse University Orange football team.
SU took on the Wagner Seahawks.
After the first quarter, Syracuse was leading Wagner 9 - 0.
At halftime, Syracuse increased that lead to a score of 37 - 0.
At the end of the third quarter, the Orange were up 54 - 0.
That ended up being the final score.
Starting SU quarterback Drew Allen completed eight of 11 passes for 62 yards and a touchdown.
Backup SU quarterback Terrel Hunt completed 15 of 18 passes for 265 yards and three touchdowns.
SU running back Jerome Smith gained 61 yards on 14 carries. He also scored two touchdowns.
Overall, the Orange racked up 595 yards of total offense and did not turn the ball over at all.
The announced attendance for the game was 33,299.
This is the first win for head coach Scott Shafer and Syracuse's first shutout since coach Greg Robinson's first year in 2005.
