Ok jachma, all my posts got deleted, did I strike a nerve? You are running your mouth which doesn't do any good. If you know what a fire department should and shouldn't do, you could make huge money solving all the fire service's problems. You are clueless, get that through your head. You are right, you might see a chief's vehicle out of district, sooooo? Did you get up in the middle of the night to jump in 32 degree water, help grandma off the bathroom floor, pick up the motorcyclist's helmet complete with head, tackle 6 foot waves in November in the dark, put out a fire of 10 cars full of materials that could rupture and impale you, swim in the lake in January....oh obviously I could go on. You are a discrace!

averageworker, why don't you come up with a way to save tax dollars and still run the fire dept efficiently. then you will be a hero that you so are looking for.

Averageworker, bet they won't go to watertown again for pictures. i know for a fact that was stop. can't fight a fire when your truck is 50 miles away.it's easy to spend the money when your not flipping for the payments. and go back and read the post's it seems that it went over your head. but hey your only recourse is calling names, tells me a little about yourself. but hey drive the new fire vehicle, for some thats the only way to know how to get a new car feel. it was bought by the fire dept, and where did the fire dept get the money from? certainly not you.

Awww what's a matter jachamaoff, couldn't become a fireman yourself? Is that why you are so bitter towards them? The chiefs have earned the right to have the cars, see before they became a chief, how many years did they use their own vehicle for calls on their dime for gas, maintenance and insurance? And the truck taken to Watertown was NOT bought by the taxpayers, it was bought by the FD after the village refused to let them use or sell them the existing equipment when they went INDEPENDENT. Don't like it? Join your local dept. and change things, don't just sit there being an internet big-mouth. By the way I am a 16 year veteran of my local department, and sure enjoy using the equipment on your dime, troll.

Whats wrong lakesnow hit a nerve? you know exactly what i'm talking about, and while your at it give the chief, asst chief, and bucket boy a new chevy tahoe so they can get around better. nothing i like to see better is a fire chief from brewerton out in solvey with a fire dept vehicle, or a fire truck from bville up in watertown so they can take pictures for a wedding. and im struggling to pay my taxes.

Do not assume that just because someone makes comments you do not understand and/or do not agree with that they do not know what they are talking about. I have been a member of my combination fire department for 20 years. I am an officer and am heavily involved with pre-planning for all sorts of situations. While it is true that you cannot plan for everything and every situation, and businesses that do not cooperate are a particular problem, you must still be prepared and be able to handle an emergency when it occurs.

Ok...I have read all the comments here...I work here and have been here 20 years. The company that owns us is from California...but there are 3 of us that have access to the gate. The manager is from Syracuse and was here within 25 minutes of being called...The fire departments did all they could do and all of us "jerks" that work here want to say thank you the volunteer fire companies that support us...and were here as soon as possible...Thank you all!! The rest of the lies don't deserve a comment...

Anyone who has ever done business with that salvage facility, say they are a bunch of jerks. I say the next time it catches fire, let it burn. The consequences of not having a plan in place and the willingness to do so. This also sounds like there could be environmental violations as well.

Cheeseburg1, I could not have said it better myself. I will always have a special place in my heart for all firemen. They put thier lives at risk for every fire call they respond to.
