Fire causes $25K to $50K in damage to Cortland apartment building

Cortland (WSYR-TV) – Cortland Fire personnel responded to a fire at 138 Groton Ave. early Wednesday morning.

The fire at the three-apartment building was reported around 4:06 a.m. Firefighters say they had the blaze under control within about 20 minutes.

Fire officials believe the damage will cost between $25,000 and $50,000 to repair. The owner did not know if insurance would cover the damage.

The Red Cross is assisting people displaced by the fire. Fire officials say no one was injured during the incident.
