Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - A fire inside a home on Syracuse's west side Thursday morning caused significant water damage to a second floor apartment.

Fire investigators say no one was home when the fire broke out inside the apartment in the home located in the 600 block of Richmond Avenue.

We're told the person who lives in the apartment arrived home as the fire was being put out.   Firefighters were able to knock down the fire quickly. The Red Cross was helping out the three residents who were impacted.
