Firefighters respond to fire on Cornell campus
Ithaca (WSYR-TV) - Fire crews responded to a fire on the Cornell University campus Thursday morning.
The Ithaca Fire Department says a fire at Goldwin Smith Hall filled the building with smoke, forcing people inside to activate the fire alarm and clear the building.
Firefighters responded to the call at about 9:30 a.m. and worked with Cornell Environmental Health and Safety personell to locate the fire.
The Ithaca Fire Department determined it was an electrical fire located in elevator machinery room in the center of the building.
Crews quickly knocked down the fire and cleared the building of smoke.
There were no reported injuries and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
Goldwin Smith Hall was reopened by 10:30 a.m.
