Flags at half-staff today for one-year anniversary of Superstorm Sandy
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - Tuesday marks one-year since Superstorm Sandy hit the east coast, destroying homes, and flooding neighborhoods.
In honor of the 61 men and women who lost their lives in the state during the storm, Governor Cuomo is directing flags to half-staff.
The governor is also calling for a moment of silence at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, to mark the time the storm surge hit New York City.
More than 300,000 homes in the state were destroyed and millions were left without power.
