ONEIDA (WSYR-TV) – After President Obama granted FEMA funding for municipalities impacted by flooding, some Central New York homeowners are pleading with him to grant individual assistance as well.
Flood victims in the City of Oneida have entered their third week of cleanup, including Sally Hall who lives on Pearl Street.
“All we want him to do is declare a residential loss so we can get some help from the government. We paid our taxes. We've done everything you've wanted us to do. All we ask is a little bit of help here,” said Hall.
Flood victims without flood insurance are especially concerned the President has yet to make a disaster declaration for individuals yet.
As for the public FEMA assistance Obama granted on Friday, it will help the City of Oneida repair its sewage treatment plant, which sustained $1.5 million in damages.
