Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - The city of Syracuse hosted its first ever Food Truck Rodeo in Perseverance Park on Thursday.
Central New Yorkers got the chance to enjoy the unique flavor of downtown with a variety of food from local vendors.
City officials were also on hand to get public input on how to redesign the area where the Centro bus transfer station used to be.
Officials hope those ideas will help redevelop the empty space on South Salina Street so that it can be more aligned with the new downtown landscape, which is bringing an economic boost to Syracuse.
There is already more than $51 million in development underway in the area. Before next spring, the city hopes to have plans in place to redesign the park.
People got the chance to enjoy local food trucks like Ladybug Lunch Box, Backyard Gourmet and Street Eats.
Many vendors said the event will give their business a boost, as the food truck trend continues to grow in Central New York.
