Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – The Syracuse Chiefs have picked a man who many in the Central New York baseball community may recall from his days with the Auburn Doubledays.
The Chiefs are replacing ousted GM John Simone – whose family had been attached to the Chiefs’ brand for decades
– with Jason Smorol.
The AAA team has finished “in the red” two years in a row – including a season that saw the lowest attendance in the team's history at its current facility.
The Chiefs told NewsChannel 9 they were trying to put together more information.
