DELHI, N.Y. (AP) - A former teacher for a rural upstate New York school district has pleaded not guilty to rape charges involving two 16-year-old male students.

The Daily Star of Oneonta reports that 28-year-old Stephanie Fletcher entered the plea at her arraignment Tuesday in Delaware County Court. She's charged with rape, criminal sexual act and endangering the welfare of a child.

Criminal complaints were filed in November against Fletcher, a few months after she resigned after teaching for five years in the Walton Central School District.

Authorities say she had sex with two underage boys in early 2011, when she was teaching at the middle and high schools.

Fletcher is free on her own recognizance. Her lawyer, F. Paul Battisti, told The Associated Press Wednesday that he isn't commenting on the case.
