Fort Drum (WSYR-TV) – A Fort Drum soldier died in Afghanistan on Monday as a result of combat-related injuries.
According to Fort Drum personnel, the circumstances surrounding the death of Sgt. Nathan Wyrick, 34, of Enumclaw, Wash., are still under investigation.
Wyrick was a supply specialist with the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat team. He arrived at Fort Drum in July 2010.
He was deployed with his unit in support of Operation Enduring Freedom in March 2011.
He is survived by his wife and four children.
