Fulton (WSYR-TV) -- A 31-year-old Fulton man is accused of using Facebook to lure a 14-year-old boy into meeting up with him for sexual acts in exchange for money, according to State Police.

After a two week long investigation, police arrested Neal J. Hart who they say portrayed himself online as a 29-year-old male by the name of “Ben Smith.”

Investigators say Hart had arranged to meet the teen on September 21 at around 4:15 p.m., but was instead greeted by State Police and was then arrested.

Hart is being held at the Oswego County Correctional Facility on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.

State Police are asking anyone who may have had a questionable interaction with a “Ben Smith” on Facebook or any other information that could help in this case to call them at 598-2112.

Hart is charged with attempted criminal sex act, attempted disseminating indecent material to a minor and tampering with physical evidence.
