SYRACUSE, NY (WSYR-TV) - The 47th Annual Gem, Mineral, Fossil and Jewelry show was held inside the SRC Arena at Onondaga Community College on Sunday.
More than 60 vendors and private displays from throughout the country were on hand.
The event is hosted by the Gem and Mineral Society.
So what makes gems, minerals and fossils such a draw?
"Just something impossibly beautiful that comes from the earth, from the earth's crust you know, and some things you can find walking along the beach or along a creek bed,” said Marcia Wisehoon with the Gem and Mineral Society.
Funds raised from the show help the Gem and mineral Society continue its mission of promoting interest and education of gems, minerals and fossils.
