GENESEO, N.Y. (AP) - Members of a western New York college volleyball team have pleaded not guilty to hazing freshmen teammates.

Eight members of the women's volleyball team at the State University of New York at Geneseo and three other female students were charged last month after six freshmen teammates said they were blindfolded, handcuffed and forced to drink alcohol during a party at an off-campus apartment during Labor Day weekend.

Geneseo police say one of the 18-year-old freshmen had to be hospitalized for alcohol poisoning.

The college at first suspended the team's season, then cancelled the season.

WHEC-TV in Rochester says the students pleaded not guilty on Tuesday to charges of hazing and unlawful dealing with a child for serving alcohol to minors, both misdemeanors. Their next court appearance is Nov. 13.
