Geneseo, N.Y. (WHAM) - Leaders at SUNY Geneseo canceled the remainder of the women's volleyball season Friday after an alleged hazing incident off campus last weekend.

Eleven SUNY Geneseo students were charged with hazing after a women’s volleyball gathering last weekend that allegedly included underage drinking.

Police say Sunday morning they received a report of an 18-year-old female SUNY Geneseo student taken to NOYES Memorial Hospital for alcohol poisoning. The student was allegedly drinking at the gathering on Court Street.

Police say they discovered approximately eight victims were summoned to 36 Court Street and allegedly blindfolded, handcuffed and ordered to drink alcoholic beverages.

Police say the victims were freshmen on the SUNY Geneseo Women’s Volleyball team.
