Syracuse (WSYR-TV) -- Governor Cuomo signed legislation Wednesday that boosts state payments to counties to help fight against mosquito-borne viruses such as West Nile virus and Eastern Equine Encephalitis., or EEE.

The funding includes $100,000 for aerial pesticide spraying.

Funds will also be used to give thousands of larvicide treatment kits to homeowners in Oswego County, where a child died from EEE two years ago.
