(WSYR-TV) - As a result of the recent flooding
, the Governor's office declared a State of Emergency for more than a dozen counties in New York State.
The counties include:
- St. Lawrence
As for future flooding, all of the flooded waterways have crested except for three. Those waterways are the Chenango River in Sherburne, the Mohawk River in Utica, and the Chenango River in Norwich. All are expected to crest soon.
More than 1,500 people are without power across the state and the power is being turned back on as crews get to the affected areas.
The state has also reached out to FEMA to see if any of the damaged areas qualify for federal assistance.
