Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – A grand jury has dismissed multiple charges against a Syracuse man who had been accused of several crimes, including rape.

A 42-year-old woman told police that David Carroll broke into her home wielding a knife and raped her.

In addition to rape, he was charged with burglary and criminal possession of a weapon.

The Onondaga County District Attorney’s Office says that the victim declined to appear for the trial in September and the case was returned to the grand jury.

In addition, they say Carroll was able to produce multiple witnesses who would appear on his behalf and the grand jury opted for a “no bill.”
