Greek yogurt to be served in CNY school cafeterias
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Starting this school year, students across New York State will be seeing Greek yogurt on their lunch trays.
New York is one of four states selected to participate in a USDA pilot program that will determine whether the nutritious and affordable snack should be incorporated into school lunch menus across the state.
New York Senator Chuck Schumer has been advocating for a program in this vein for years. He believes New York is a perfect match.
Two of the largest Greek yogurt manufacturers - Chobani and Fage – call Central New York home.
