Syracuse (WSYR-TV/CNN) – Anyone who has ever bought a Groupon might receive an email this week about a class-action lawsuit connected to expiration dates on the company’s daily deals.
The popular Internet deal service has settled a lawsuit that will pay customers a proposed $8.5 million.
17 Groupon users filed lawsuits over the past several years regarding expiration dates on deals and how the company sold or advertised those deals.
The 17 initial complainants will receive around $500 each. The $6.3 million remaining will be divided among eligible Groupon customers.
Anyone who believes the suit applies to them should file by July 6.
