Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - There is a change in the entertainment for Syracuse University's Orange Madness event on Friday at the Carrier Dome to kickoff its college basketball season.
The men's and women's basketball teams will still scrimmage, but rapper Ace Hood will no longer headline the event.
His lyrics are known for their explicit and violent content.
In a statement, Pete Moore, Director of Athletic Communications wrote: "To ensure that Orange Madness is truly a family experience, the artist Ace Hood will not be part of the event. After a review of the overall program, we share concerns about the appropriateness of the act. Although he is popular with many, we respectfully have decided to not include this performance in the Orange Madness festivities."
A replacement has not been announced.
Tickets for Orange Madness are still on sale for $5.
