Liverpool, New York (WSYR-TV) - Two people taking part in Hydrofest were rushed to the hospital Saturday, after their boats collided on Onondaga Lake.
Pierre Matheu, 34, was in the middle of a race when his boat lost power. That's when Maryland's James Shane, 23, hit his boat from behind trapping Matheu in the wreckage.
Bob Tetro witnessed the crash.
"You could hear it over the sounds of the engines, it was very loud. You heard them we they hit and then the hush over the whole place. It was a pretty horrific accident."
Matheu was eventually freed from his boat and both men were taken to University Hospital where they are said to be in good condition.
NewsChannel 9 viewer Steve Gillett sent us the video of the crash that he took from his cell phone. Gillette also tells us the visibility was very poor for racing today.
