Syracuse (WSYR-TV) - The portion of I-690 westbound that was closed for bridge repair re-opened around 2 p.m. on Monday.

The highway had been scheduled to open at noon.

We've heard from many people that the decks that have already been replaced are too high and bumpy. The Department of Transportation says not to worry.

When all the bridge decks are replaced, workers will come back in to grind down and smooth out the concrete. The DOT say it's easier to do it all at once.

North Crouse Ave. Closure

North Crouse Ave. will be closed to all traffic between Canal Street and the north side of the I-690 bridge, from Monday, October 8 to Monday, October 29.

During that time, drivers should expect major delays along Almond St., Teall Ave., Thompson Rd., and Erie Blvd. between Thompson Road and West Street and at intersections near the I-81 / I-690 interchange.
