I-81 meetings to be held tonight in Syracuse
Syracuse (WSYR-TV) – Central New Yorkers will have a chance to voice their opinions on the future of I-81 in the city of Syracuse tonight.
New York State is considering a number of options for the highway as it passes through the city of Syracuse.
Within a few years, the highway will need to be replaced.
The two leading proposals are to replace the current stretch of highway with a new one, which would be elevated above the city, or a boulevard at street level through the city.
Tonight’s meeting will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at Doctor Weeks Elementary School. Another meeting is scheduled for Wednesday night at Everson Museum.
Two more meetings are set for next week.
