It’s rather cloudy Sunday morning and there even some showers around central New York but this hope as we head through the afternoon. Here’s what’s happening.
There is a cold front north of Lake Ontario shortly after sunrise Sunday. Yes, I’ll admit that is farther north than we were thinking a couple of days ago. Anyhow, on the radar showers are most widespread east of Lake Ontario into the Adirondacks. As the cold front presses southeast during the day we expect showers to move out to our east. By 1 or 2 PM most of the showers should be east of Syracuse.
We are also watching the satellite picture this morning and even though there are a few thin spots over central New York already we are focusing more on sizable breaks in the clouds around Toronto and not to far north of there skies are clear. This clearing is forecasted to move in quickly after mid afternoon Sunday. So the bottom line for picnic goers today there may be a few showers close by at Noon but if you have a late day picnic it looks like dry weather with more sun.
A nice area of high pressure still looks like it will build in for Memorial Day itself so we will have no weather problems morning or afternoon.
